alternately placing an insertion tube in a first position in alignment with the hole defined by the workpiece into which the fastener is to be inserted and a second position out of alignment with the hole;
generating air flow through the insertion tube in a direction toward the workpiece when the tube is placed in the first position without generating air flow through the insertion tube when the tube is placed in the second position;
placing the fastener into the insertion tube; and
when the tube is in the first position in alignment with the hole defined by the workpiece, carrying the fastener into the hole defined by the workpiece as a result of the air flow through the tube.
