| 1. An electrode wire adapted for use in an electrostatic precipitator, the electrode wire comprising: a wire portion of a predetermined length L and including a first end and a second end, with the wire portion comprising a substantially serpentine wire portion; and retaining bodies formed on the first end and the second end of the wire portion, said wire portion traversing the entire lengths of the retaining bodies, said retaining bodies having outside surfaces with a first and second outside portion that is sheared such that there is no wire protruding from the outside of the retaining bodies, with a retaining body of the retaining bodies being substantially solid. |
