| 1. An electrophotographic printing apparatus for printing an image on an image transfer sheet medium by producing a latent
image on a photosensitive unit and transferring the image to the image transfer sheet medium, comprising:
a width-directional positional sensor to detect a width-directional position of the image transfer sheet medium; and
a printing start position control unit to control a printing start position on the photosensitive unit in a width direction
of the image transfer sheet medium based on a detection result of the width-directional positional sensor, wherein:
the width-directional positional sensor detects a width-directional position of the image transfer sheet medium before and
also after beginning to produce the latent image on the photosensitive unit, and detection results thereof are compared with
one another; and
it is determined from the comparison result whether or not printing operation is further continued.
