| 1. Apparatus for measuring a property of a borehole environs, the apparatus comprising:
(a) a pressure housing;
(b) at least one reflectance assembly comprising
(i) a lens hermetically sealed within a wall of said pressure housing,
(ii) an IRED disposed within said pressure housing and optically coupled to said lens, and
(iii) a PD disposed within said pressure housing and optically coupled to said lens, wherein said PD responds to radiation
emitted by said IRED and reflected from said borehole environs; and
(c) said property is determined from said response; wherein
(d) said lens of said at least one reflectance assembly contacts a borehole wall of said borehole environs, wherein resolution
of said response is defined by an area of said lens and said borehole contact.
