Subject: Do Not Implemement PTO Practitioner Fees
I want to go on the record as being against registration fees
for practioners. So long as Congress continues to . I divert
(aka legally steal) U.S. PTO funds to line its own pocket,
the USPTO should not be raising costs to make . up for this
shortfall. No doubt, what starts as a $100 per year fee could
end up being a $300 or $400 dollar per year fee (with the
same arugment, that is constitutes less tha 1/2 of 1 % of
a practitioner enering $100,000). The PTO Commissioner, From
the former Rogan, to the current Dudas, should be complaining
loudly and very publicly both to Commerce Secretary Evans
and to the Executive and Legislative Branches of the government,
all of whom have the power to stop the illegal diversion of
PTO funds for non?PTO purposes. Do not impose additional fees
until the USPTO can recover what is taken from them in the
form of "tribute" by the Commerce Department. The
tribute taken by the Commerce Department from the USPTO is
in a sense is no different than a shakedown by organized crime
on legitimate businesses such as i private sanitation. The
USPTO has no funding shortfall, this is complete non?sense.
Maybe we should outsource half of the USPTO functions to India
to reduce costs.
