Public User’s Meeting
November 17, 2004
2:00 p.m.
The Public Users Meeting was held at 2:00pm in the 7th floor conference room,
Crystal Gateway 4, 200 12th St., South, Suite 700, Arlington, VA. Ted Parr,

OPR Move Update – Ted Parr
Customer Box Rentals
Two weeks ago revised forms were sent out for box rentals that include an
election of box location, including the Alexandria site. Customers were asked
to please fill out a new form, even if they have already submitted an old
form, so that the USPTO has a clearly indicated box location designation.
OPR Move
OPR will move to the South Tower building in Crystal City the week of January
24, 2005, probably in the latter half of that week. Updates on move times
and any service disruptions will be made available as information becomes
available. The Customer Service Window will move to the second floor of South
Tower prior to that week so that OPR can continue to conduct business with
customers throughout the move, such as taking orders and providing status
information. During the move there may be some delays with regular order delivery.
At Cost and Expedited services are expected to be available throughout the
move. At this point no changes are planned for those services but, if necessary,
volumes accepted may be limited.
Question: Will there be meeting space when OPR moves and will parking
be available? Yes. The next several meetings will be held in the
Randolph building conference rooms at the Carlyle campus. Parking is available
at reasonable cost. The parking lots on both sides of the Madison building
are now open and accessible.
PSF Move Update – Martha Sneed
A customer action items list has been made available for customer questions/issues.
It will be posted and updated each Monday at the PSF. As each item/issue is
addressed it will be dropped from the list.
Today Security was able to provide access for the public to the first floor
restrooms at the PSF.
Shelving issues will be fixed this afternoon so clutter will be minimized.
Power on the first floor is now available. Universal workstations had to be
reconfigured but are now available for the public’s use.
Question: Will there be a mailroom at Carlyle? What will happen to
the window that was at Plaza 2? These questions will have to be addressed
by Patents. They will post the solutions in an upcoming OG Notice.
Question: Are UPWS enhancements only at Carlyle? No, enhancements
are also implemented in South Tower.
Question: Who will pull TTAB files? This question will be
passed along to Marian Bruffy. Also, a late filing window will be available
at Carlyle.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:20pm.
