PTO FEES
Effective October 1, 1997
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has amended its
rules of practice in patent and trademark cases, Parts 1 and 2 of title
37, Code of Federal Regulations, to adjust certain patent fee and trademark
service fee amounts to reflect fluctuations in the Consumer Price Index
(CPI) and to recover costs of operation.
Any fee amount paid on or after October 1, 1997 must be
paid in the revised amount. The date of mailing indicated on a proper Certificate
of Mailing or Transmission, where authorized under 37 CFR 1.8, will be
considered to be the date of receipt and payment in the Office.
As this fee schedule is a summary and the content of rules
also may be changing, you should refer to the notice published in the Federal
Register on July 29, 1997 in Volume 62, Number 145, pages 40450 and
40457 ( Fee Notice in Text , or Fee Notice in PDF ) . See also the Official Gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office of August
19, 1997. The fees which are subject to reduction for small entities
who have established status (37 CFR 1.27) are shown in a separate column.
