Trademarks BIB Subscriber Notice

October 2004 Issue

The latest issue of Trademarks BIB has grown too large to fit on one dual-layer DVD-ROM disc. For a short-term resolution, it was necessary to make a few changes to free up space. These changes include the removal of a number of specialized field search indexes. No functionality has been lost and all fields remain searchable. However, index browsing for these fields will be very slow. These search fields are listed below:

Design Search Code
International Class
Section 1(b) Indicator
Mark Drawing Code
Register
Section 44 Indicator
Other Registrations
Section 2(f) Limitation
Published for Opposition
Affidavit
Change in Registration
Type of Mark
Amended Supp. Register

To resolve this problem in the long term, it will be necessary to split the Trademarks BIB product into a two-disc set. One disc will contain registered and pending trademarks while the other will contain dead marks (abandoned, cancelled, and expired). This should occur sometime in spring 2005. We will keep you updated as this change is closer to completion.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please contact us if you have any questions or comments.
