- Position 1 is the classification section (alphabetic)
- Position 2-3 are the classification class (2 numeric right justified with leading zero)
- Position 4 is the classification subclass (1 alphabetic)
- Position 5-7 are the classification group (3 numeric right justified with leading zeros)
- Position 8 is a separator (/)
- Position 9-15 are is the classification subgroup (up to 7 alphanumeric characters left justified)
