Patents Assist Subscriber Notice

2001 September Issue

We are pleased to inform you of several new features on the 2001 September issue of Patents ASSIST. We are continuing to enhance the Cassis2 products to make them more efficient search tools for our subscribers.

This disc contains the recently published 8^th edition of the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP), 2001 August. The MPEP is available in a searchable format as well as the Table of Contents format.

A Table of Contents has been added to the Classification Definitions. The table of contents enables you to jump to a particular class rather than using one of the search forms. To use the table of contents, click on the table of contents icon located on the far right of the toolbar. When you click on this icon, the upper window of the Results screen displays a hyper-linked table of contents.Click on the class and/or subclass that you want to access and the text is displayed in the lower window. Note that the Results tab displays "Contents" when you are in the table of contents mode.Click on one of the search tabs to return to text searching. The Results screen will be reset and the tab will again display "Results." There is more information about this feature in the User's Guide and online Help.
