Help on the Number Search Page
This page contains information on
the use of the PTO Web Trademark Database Number Search Page.
The Number Search page allows you to search by registration number (for
registered marks) or by serial number (for pending marks). While you can
search for document numbers in other ways, this page is designed to
simplify one of the most common types of searching as much as possible. To
use the page:
- Type the number or numbers (separated by spaces) you're interested in
into the box. If you include more than one number, they should be
separated by a space. Your search will work fine, whether you include commas or not.
- Hit the Search button.
The database will be searched for all the numbers you provide, and a
list of the ones found will be returned, sorted with the most recent ones
first. Both the Serial Number and Registration number fields will be
searched for the numbers you specify.
A few things to note:
- Anything you enter into the number search box that is not a
recognizable number (other terms, operators like 'OR' or 'AND') will be
ignored. The search will be conducted only on any entries you make that
are recognized as numbers. See Help on Field Searching for information
on how to enter Serial Numbers and Registration Numbers.
- The 'Refine Search' box on the search results page will use the same
query format as the Manual Search
page. See the Manual Search Help page
for details on its use.
