PatentIn 3.5 is a release containing enhancements effective November 27, 2007 . This is the most up-to-date version of the USPTO's authoring software for sequence listings required for biotechnology applications disclosing DNA or protein sequences.

PatentIn 3.5 replaces PatentIn 3.4 and all earlier versions.

Both the software and the user manual can be downloaded from the USPTO Web site at http://www.uspto.gov/patents/resources/tools/checker/patentinrel.jsp  for no charge.

United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance

The United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance is a guide for relating the US Patent Classification (USPC) System as revised through August 1999, to the Seventh Edition of the International Patent Classification (IPC) System as published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva, Switzerland.

An electronic version of the USPC to IPC Concordance may be viewed on the USPTO Web site.

The United States Patent Classification To International Patent Classification Concordance is intended only as a guide or tool providing information which allows the user to quickly access the correct, general classification area of the IPC7, and because of differences in the philosophies of the two systems, a complete one-to-one relationship has not been attained. Also known as the USPC-IPC Concordance and Concordance File.

The Concordance List Of USPC Classes (Data as of August 31, 1999) is available from the USPTO Web site. Users of this Concordance are encouraged to read the linked web page, Classifying Within The International Patent Classification System (IPC), which provides information on the particular differences between the USPC and the IPC and presents some basic steps in classifying documents into the IPC.

DVD-ROM
A searchable file of the United States Patent Classification to International Patent Classification Concordance is available on Patents ASSIST. (Concordance is no longer available on DISKETTE.) The most current version of the USPC - IPC may be obtained by purchasing Patents ASSIST as a single copy.
