Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property to Give Welcoming Remarks at Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation's IP Experts' Group Meetings

Washington - The Department of Commerce's United States Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, James Rogan, will give welcoming remarks opening the two-day Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation's Intellectual Property Expert's Group (APEC-IPEG) meeting in Los Angeles, CA. Established in 1996, APEC-IPEG meets twice a year to discuss IP protection and enforcement issues. Following the meeting, the USPTO will host a two-day IP enforcement seminar (July 24-25, 2002) on how to investigate and prosecute IP infringement cases. Attendees include patent commissioners, and other IP protection officials from the APEC-IPEG region including countries of the Asia Pacific, Canada, US, Russia, Mexico, Chile and Peru.
