Commerce Under Secretary for Intellectual Property Rogan To Discuss IP Issues Facing U.S. Agriculture Industry

Washington - Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, James Rogan, will take part in an information-gathering session on agricultural-related intellectual property rights issues faced by U.S. food producers and the agricultural industry. The issues to be discussed include trademark counterfeiting; unauthorized use of geographical indications; unauthorized release of confidential product information; and intellectual property protection of plant varieties and food products.

Also participating in the session will be representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Services Agency, co-sponsors of the event; California Farm Service Agency Board Members; District Representative Young Kim from the Office of Congressman Ed Royce; state officials and local representatives. Under Secretary Rogan will make introductory and concluding remarks.
