USPTO Changes Address for Patent Express Mail
USPTO CHANGES ADDRESS FOR PATENT EXPRESS MAIL.
PRESS RELEASE
Suspension of USPS Express Mail service to some DC addresses
prompts change
The Department of Commerce's United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has set up an alternate address on a temporary basis for USPS Express Mail being delivered to the agency for patent filings and patent correspondence. The change stems from a memorandum dated November 16th from the U.S. Postal Service stating that it was suspending USPS Express Mail to certain Washington, DC zip codes, including USPTO zip code 20231. The new USPS Express Mail address for patent filings and patent correspondence is:
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
P.O. Box 2327
Arlington, VA 22202
The address for trademark filings and trademark correspondence for USPS Express Mail is not affected since it is an Arlington, VA address. This mail should still be addressed to:
Assistant Commissioner for Trademarks
2900 Crystal Drive
Arlington, VA 22202-3513
For complete information on the address change, customers should visit the agency's web site at http://www.uspto.gov/september11/uspsmaildisrup.htm .
