Attorney General Reno To Speak at USPTO IIP Enforcement Symposium
ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO SPEAK TUESDAY AT USPTO INTERNATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ENFORCEMENT SYMPOSIUM
U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno will address government intellectual property officials from 30 countries in the Western Hemisphere at a luncheon in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, September 12, 2000. The Attorney General, who will talk about trends in intellectual property crime and the need for cooperation among governments and industry, will deliver remarks at 12:45 p.m.
The luncheon is part of a two-day conference sponsored by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to address practical problems and realistic solutions to the growing use of the Internet and other digital technologies in the development and distribution of pirated and counterfeit goods. Over 200 international government and industry leaders are attending the September 11 and 12 conference.
