Legal Analysis of Software Guidelines Released

 

     The Commerce Department's Patent and Trademark Office has

issued the Legal Analysis to Support Proposed Examination

Guidelines for Computer-Implemented Inventions.  This analysis

expands on the proposed guidelines, released in June, that will,

when final, be used by patent examiners to determine the

patentability of computer software.

     The comment period for the proposed guidelines continues
until November 13, 1995.
