Noche de Ciencias or Night of Science is a national program of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Foundation (SHPE Foundation) and was initiated in 2008 as a way to introduce students and families to science and engineering through hands-on activities and exposure to college and career information in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), in collaboration with the SHPE Foundation, and SHPE USPTO are hosting its second Noche de Ciencias during Hispanic Heritage Month. Workshops discussing STEM careers, financial aid, college admissions, and scholarships in both Spanish and English will be provided. There will also be hands-on activities for K-12 students to engage students of all ages in fun science and engineering experiments.
