WHAT IS YOUR COMPLAINT?
Name of mass media invention promoter advertised in: TV ads, Internet (www.inventionresource.com), trade shows, “We offer a full range of safe and cost-effective inventor services” “Get our FREE INVENTION KIT-don’t let your dream slip away!” -NONSENSE, USING IRI IS SELDOM SAFE OR SMART
Invention promotion service offered to be performed: patentability determination, research commercial and legal viability, virtual prototypes (www.virtual-prototype.com), product presentation brochures, media and internet publicity, targeted company and licensee campaign, licensing negotiations, patent referral
Explanation of complaint between customer and invention promoter: My invention in 2009 was to combine GPS and radar detectors into a single unit. I now know that was already on the market by 2008. IRI told me it was a great patentable new idea and lured me into spending $6500-$7000 for their “The Right Steps” 4-step program. My current attorney, Bruce Burdick after only 10 minutes searching found the same thing published in 2008 on Wikipedia, so IRI blew the prior art search. I think deliberately, and apparently just did enough to trick me into thinking it was patentable to sell me their services. Both ripoffreport.com and inventorspot.com report that IRI is an invention promotion scam to be avoided. IRI never told me that. IRI claims to be the “world’s largest and premier inventor assistance organization”, which is a lie. The US Pat & TM Office is much larger and much more “premier” and helps inventors not rip them off like IRI. WIPO/OMPI (World Intellectual Property Office) in Geneva, Switzerland and the EPO (Munich), JPO (Japan), KPO (Korea) and CPO (China) both all much larger and more premier and official than IRI. Even among notorious promoters, Invention Submission Company (“Invent Help”, “ISC”, etc) is much bigger and more infamous, as IRI knows. The owner of IRI is reported by ripoffreport.com to be Denice Hardiman-Thurlow 1-800-788-8814. IRI’s affiliate “Desert View Funding” (“DVF”) falsely claimed to unaffiliated to lure people like me to borrow money for IRI’s program. That way if you can’t afford IRI, it can still sign you up and even chanrge interest to further rip you off. I think that it is negligent and probably fraudulent of them to tell me my unpatentable invention is patentable and then seel me thousands of dollars of worthless services to promote it. Shame on them. Please help me get my money back and warn other people not to use IRI. IRI seems to not respond or communicate once they get your money, especially when you realize their game, stop paying and demand a refund. Perhaps this complaint will get them to respond. If they were honest, they would refund my money.
