Sound and smell can both be used as trademarks. Neither of these types of trademarks can be seen. The NBC chime is an example of sound used as a trademark.

Pink insulation is an example of the use of color as a trademark. You can sometimes get a trademark on a particular product's color when it is used soley to make a product distinctive.
