ADVISORY: The USPTO has been receiving numerous filings where users incorrectly index their documents using Accelerated Examination descriptions. Though no rights to your patent are affected, erroneously indexed documents can negatively impact your processing time.

The following Accelerated Examination document descriptions should ONLY be used when an applicant has filed a grantable petition to make special under the accelerated examination program:

   • Accelerated Exam - Transmittal amendment/ reply
   • Petition for 12-month Accelerated Exam
   • Statement of pre-examination search
   • Examination support document
