Systems and Assignment Search Maintenance, Maintenance affecting payment processing system, EFS-Web, PTAB-E2E, Pay.gov, & TMOG, TSDR, and TIDM Maintenances

Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting the following systems beginning at midnight and ending at 5 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

The systems listed below will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

  • Public Patent Application Information Retrieval (Public PAIR)
  • Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private PAIR)

Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the following systems beginning at midnight and ending at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

During the maintenance period the following systems will be unavailable.  

  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)

Assignment Search Maintenance

USPTO will perform maintenance on the Assignment Search (AS) system beginning at 12:01 a.m. and ending at 2 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

The AS system will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Maintenance affecting payment processing system

The USPTO will conduct maintenance affecting the payment processing system beginning at 12:01 a.m. and ending at 5:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET. Financial Manager and Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront will be unavailable during the maintenance period. The maintenance will also cause interruption to payment processing for users of the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS), Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi), Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS), the Order Entry Management System (OEMS), the Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA), the Patent Electronic Filing System (EFS-Web) and the Patent Trial and Appeal End to End (PTAB E2E).

For Patents Customers:

EFS-Web applicants may file new applications and follow-on submissions except for ePetitions, eTerminal Disclaimers, Web 85b, and other submissions which require payment at time of submission.

Please submit payment using an alternative payment method, such as:

  • by attaching a fee transmittal form (e.g., PTO/SB/17) with deposit account authorization in EFS-Web.
  • by faxing in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 to the USPTO Central Fax 571-273-8300.
  • or by sending in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 through Priority Mail Express(formerly Express Mail) from the United States Postal Services (USPS) in accordance with 37 CFR 1.10.

Facsimile submission of the basic national fee for national stage under 35 U.S.C. 371 is not accepted. Submissions that require successful online payment, such as ePetitions and Pre-grant publication submissions, will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

For Trademark Customers:

If your deadline is today and the document requiring a fee payment cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternative method of filing. Please visit the Outage Page for information concerning Trademark alternative filing methods. account will still be able to pay the required fees via those accounts. In addition, forms that do not require a fee payment can still be filed.

For TTAB Customers:

If your deadline is today and a document requiring a fee payment cannot be filed electronically prior to midnight, you must submit your filing by mail. This outage does not impact ESTTA forms that do not require a filing fee. Oppositions or extensions of time to oppose § 66(a) applications must be filed electronically.

EFS-Web Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web beginning at 12:10 a.m. and ending at 5 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

EFS-Web and EFS-Web Contingency will be unavailable during the maintenance period. Please use an alternative filing method if you need to file during this time. More info.

PTAB-E2E Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Patent Trial Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) beginning at midnight and ending at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

The system will not be available during the maintenance period.

Pay.gov Maintenance

Pay.gov will undergo maintenance beginning at noon and ending at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 27 ET.

All USPTO storefronts are expected to remain available. However, credit/debit card payment processing through all USPTO storefronts will be unavailable during the maintenance period. Please submit payment using alternative payment method, such as:

For Patents Customers:

  • by paying online with an established deposit account or EFT account via EFS-Web and the Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront.
  • by attaching a fee transmittal form (e.g., PTO/SB/17) with deposit account authorization in EFS-Web.
  • by faxing in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 to the USPTO Central Fax 571-273-8300.
  • or by sending in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 through Priority Mail Express(formerly Express Mail) from the United States Postal Services (USPS) in accordance with 37 CFR 1.10.

TMOG, TSDR, and TIDM Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Next Generation Official Gazette (TMNG OG), Trademark System Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR), and Trademark Identification Manual for Acceptable Goods and Services (TIDM) beginning at 10 p.m., Saturday, August 27 and ending at 5 p.m., Sunday, August 28 ET.

The TMOG , TSDR, and TIDM will be unavailable during the maintenance period. However, the PDF version of the gazette will be available during the maintenance period as well as the legacy version of the ID Manual. The maintenance will also prevent use of the TEAS initial application forms.

 

The following systems will remain available during the TSDR maintenance, but links to and images derived from TSDR will be unavailable, including mark images.
