Search File Reclassification Services
The USPTO is pleased to announce that contract number DOC50PAPT0601022 resulting from RFP number DOC52PAPT0601001 was awarded on August 9, 2006 to Anvil Logic, Inc. of Fairfax, VA.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeks to award a Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract to acquire search file reclassification services. These services include the reorganization of technological areas of subject matter, such as patents and pre-grant published applications, into an optimal structure for classifying, searching, and retrieving patent information. The period of performance for this requirement is anticipated to be for a base period of one year and four additional one-year option periods. In addition, the successful Offeror has the opportunity to earn up to five additional award term years depending on contract performance.
Proposals are due no later than 2:00 p.m. EST, Monday, March 13, 2006.

The USPTO is still conducting Market Research. Release of the Search File Reclassification Services Request for Proposal (RFP) is planned for early October 2005. We are inviting the vendor community to contact the Contracting Officer, John R. Baumert, at john.baumert@uspto.gov to request a meeting with the USPTO to answer questions and to address comments about the draft RFP issued in the Request for Information DOCSSPAPT0510004. Meeting requests are due by 5:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, October 5, 2005 (completed).
DOCSSPAPT0510004 - The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is conducting market research for search file reclassification services. This market research shall be conducted at NO COST TO THE GOVERNMENT. This announcement is a Request For Information (RFI), not a solicitation announcement for proposals, and accordingly, no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests.
