Design Day 2012: The Graphics of Designs – Graphic Description of Industrial Designs before the USPTO
Sixth Annual USPTO Design Patent Conference
Tuesday, April 10, 2012
On Tuesday, April 10, 2012, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law and the Industrial Designers Society of America will co-sponsor Design Day 2012: The Graphics of Designs – Graphic Description of Industrial Designs before the USPTO, an annual conference for design patent practitioners and design examiners. The day-long event will be held in the Madison Auditorium at USPTO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is an opportunity for managers, design examiners and the design patent bar to exchange ideas and to educate each other on important topics affecting design patent practice. Spend the day with United States Patent and Trademark Office management and examiners, design patent practitioners and industrial designers from across the country in a lively and thought provoking dialog. We will discuss current issues in design patent law, emphasizing the role of drawings, photographs and other graphic forms in securing high-quality U.S. design patents. We will also discuss international drawing standards, corporate intellectual property strategies for designs and litigation of designs before US District Courts and the International Trade Commission.
The program is open to all and there is no fee. However, for planning purposes pre-registration is encouraged and can be completed on-line at Register now for Design Day 2012.
