University of California leads U.S. academic institutions for 11th consecutive year

Jon Dudas, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and a Chicago-area native, will announce new initiatives to improve the quality of patents and help reduce the time it takes to process patents on Friday, March 4. The new initiatives support the agency's 21st Century Strategic Plan goals to ensure an effective patent examination system.
